Most free products bury their real intentions in a privacy policy nobody reads and change them whenever it suits. This is the opposite: a short list of promises we intend to be held to. If we ever break one, you should be able to point at this page.
1. The school is free, and it stays free
Every course, every lesson, every figure, every exam and every book is free, permanently. There is no paid tier, no certificate to buy, and no part of the catalogue held back for people who pay. A paywall anywhere would break the only claim this school makes, so there is not going to be one.
2. You are never the product
We will never sell your data, and we will never show you advertising. There is no ad technology on this site and no behavioural profile of you being built here to sell to anyone.
3. No public score on a learner
There is no rank, no percentage, no leaderboard and no badge anybody else can see — and a teacher gets no exception. A teacher sees what a pupil has finished and what they are in the middle of, because those are the two facts that let you help somebody. Nothing turns a class into a table of who is ahead.
4. Every tutor is an AI, and every page says so
The tutors here are AI. They are labelled as AI wherever they appear, their portraits are drawings rather than photographs, and none of them will ever claim to be a person. None of them is a doctor, a lawyer or a counsellor, and what they say can be wrong. There are no ratings or rankings on tutors either.
5. Reading is never gated
You can read the whole school without an account, without an email address and without telling us anything. An account is asked for only when something has to be kept for you — your progress, your exam results — never to let you read.
6. Your record is yours
Everything Addaly holds about you is listed in plain words on your own page, and you can download the whole of it as a file at any time. You can ask us to correct it, and you can ask us to erase it. The only thing we will refuse is material the law obliges us to preserve, and we will tell you when that is why. See Privacy.
7. Distress is met with support, not punishment
If you write something that sounds like you are struggling, you are offered help, not a penalty. We will never close or limit an account because somebody reached out in pain. The only thing we act on is content that encourages harm to yourself or others.
8. Every technique has a free path
Where a course names an expensive industry tool, because a job advertisement names it, it names a free tool that does the same job in the same breath. Nobody is left at a paywall in the middle of a lesson, and nobody is sneered at for using the free one.
9. No policy whiplash
These rights do not change quietly. If we ever need to revise them, we will say what changed and why, in language a person can read, before it takes effect.
