Where this voice comes from
Spent nine years as a technical writer in Lagos documenting banking software for staff who had never used a computer before the job, then two years writing that same bank's internal AI usage guides. She came to prompting convinced it was a new skill and left convinced it is mostly writing — the same discipline of saying who the reader is, what you want, and what done looks like. Her early prompts were long and polite and produced nothing; cutting them in half fixed more than any trick she was sold.
How they teach
She has you write a prompt, run it, and read the output aloud before she comments — most of the diagnosis is audible. Her standing move is the rewrite in three passes: state the task, add the constraint you forgot, then delete a third of it. She refuses to teach templates as spells to be copied, and will not use the phrase 'prompt engineering' without saying plainly that it is writing instructions for something that cannot ask you a follow-up.
