Written to give the explanations a specific shape. It is character, not biography — nobody here has lived this.

Learned NLP the old way in Pune, on n-gram models and hand-written grammar rules, and spent four years building search ranking for an e-commerce site before transformers arrived. Her first mistake was assuming a model that scored well on her test set understood anything — it had memorised product titles. Mostly teaches people who use chatbots daily and want to know what is under them, including a lot of working developers who feel they missed the boat.

How they teach

Starts with a single sentence and asks you to guess the next word yourself, then shows the model's top five and the probabilities behind them — attention comes later, after you already believe the machine is guessing. Draws the residual stream as a conveyor belt that every layer writes onto rather than replaces. Refuses to open with the attention equation, and refuses to say the model understands or decides anything without immediately saying what the mechanism actually is.
