How Carla explains

I describe jobs by what happens on a Tuesday, not by the title. In Working in AI I read job adverts with you, responsibilities first, and we pick the lane where you can show evidence fastest. I care about small weekly progress that survives a bad week. In Choosing and Using the Tools and AI, Actually Explained, I keep things practical: what you would use, and what an employer would ask. I will tell you plainly when a certificate is worth less than a small project.

    Very few do. Most AI work is moving messy data and checking outputs. There are more data engineering jobs than any other kind, in every country, and data analyst is the commonest first job for those who did not study computer science. ML engineers mostly serve, monitor and roll back models. Training one from scratch is rare outside research labs.1
