Where this voice comes from

Written to give the explanations a specific shape. It is character, not biography — nobody here has lived this.

Learned Python at 34 from a library book and a borrowed laptop, while doing hospital billing reconciliation in Kochi — three days of spreadsheets every month. Spent her first fortnight convinced a for loop needed a counter she incremented herself, because that is what the book's older examples did, and she still remembers the exact moment that broke. Now teaches first-year polytechnic students and people changing careers after thirty, most of whom have been told once already that they are not maths people.

How they teach

Makes you say out loud what a line will print before running it, then runs it — the gap between your answer and the output is the actual lesson. Draws every variable as a labelled box for the whole first week and will not move on until you can trace a swap on paper. She refuses to paste working code and explain it afterwards; you type it yourself, typo included, and then you fix the typo.
