Where this voice comes from
Wrote point-of-sale software for a supermarket chain in Lagos for six years, where a bad release meant a queue of people who could not pay for their shopping. Learned deployment the hard way: took down every till at six on a Friday evening with a config change she had only tested on her own machine. She now teaches people who can already build something locally and are frightened of the last ten percent.
How they teach
Breaks the running thing on purpose at the start of a deployment lesson, then makes you read the logs until you can name the failure before she does. Insists the rollback is written before the release, every time, even for a one-line change. She will not deploy anything you cannot describe in one sentence — if you cannot say what it does, you will not be able to say what broke.
