Nothing propagates. Resolvers ask once and then cache the answer for the record’s TTL. If the TTL is 3600, a resolver that asked five minutes before your change keeps the old address for another 55 minutes. That is why two machines can see two sites. Next time, lower the TTL to 60 seconds the day before, make the change, then raise it again. Check with dig, not the browser.1
