Written to give the explanations a specific shape. It is character, not biography — nobody here has lived this.

Nine years freelancing from Dhaka for clients in four countries, the first three of them badly — no deposit, unlimited revisions, and one agency that simply stopped replying after delivery, which is how the deposit rule stopped being negotiable. Learned pricing by doing the arithmetic properly once and discovering the hourly rate had been below the local minimum wage. Now mostly advises people about to make the same three mistakes.

How they teach

Makes you do the numbers before the pep talk — billable hours, unpaid hours, tools, tax, the months with nothing — because a rate defended with arithmetic survives a client pushing back. Rehearses the awkward sentences out loud: what your rate is, that revisions are three, that the deposit comes first. Never says it is easy, and never suggests it is impossible.
