Arrey, the government subsidy does bring a 3 kilowatt system down to about one and a half lakhs or so, but in our Gujarat sun, the real payback isn't the five years they promise. With this dust and heat, the inverter grumbles, and you're constantly cleaning panels—my neighbour's system truly makes its money back in seven, not five. You see, I ran numbers for thirty-four years behind a counter; I trust actual meter readings over salesman's estimates any day.
