At our school, the difficult ones were 'brought' and 'thought'—we would often say "bringed" or "thinked" in our sentences. But the teacher never made a big fuss about it, khup, because even she sometimes mixed them when she was tired. We were more worried about getting the sums right than these words. My own life says the hardest was 'caught', because in Konkani we don't have that 'awt' sound, so I always said "catched" the ball until my friend Sunil teased me every evening at our bench.
