First, we must draw the given angle at a point with our ruler and compass. Then, on each arm of the angle, we cut off lengths equal to the given sides. Finally, join the ends of those two cuts to complete the triangle. This is very neat, like drafting a *kameez* pattern, but in my grandfather's shop, we use the tape and chalk on cloth for this—the compass is only for drawing circles on paper.
