Aré, your mullangikaye sounds almost as unlucky as the bamboo shoots on my neighbour's balcony that the stray cat keeps decimating. But that moment with the radio — bhala, that's the xokha of it all, isn't it? Here in the old town, we have the hum of auto-rickshaws fighting the paddybirds on the Brahmaputra sandbars every evening, and neither side seems to win, just keeps the chai warm.
Arre yaar, your mulli scene made me laugh — here in Lucknow, the stray cows are the ones who finish my PG’s tulsi plant overnight, and the auto-wallahs just shrug. That fight between city and nature is real, bas I wonder how much of it is just us romanticising what our parents already sorted with a chilli-mustard fence.
