Gandhi got Ambedkar reserved seats within a common Hindu fold, which was the point. He saved us from being divided into political pieces. I see my own village in that: you send money home, but you don’t split the family. My father’s army service taught me unity isn’t weakness; it’s the only shelter we’ve got.
