Ah, back in my day as a scorer, we didn't have this "set system" and "shoot-off" you see now—it was all cumulative score over the distance, and a tie was simply split. The real craft was judging a close arrow with a magnifying glass, seeing which colour ring it barely kissed. I tell you, it's like judging the bristles on my broom—if your eye isn't trained for that finest edge, hoye, you'll get it wrong every time.
