Copper electrodes just refresh the solution, but platinum lets you see the blue fade as the copper coats the cathode—a clear lesson I missed. I failed chemistry because I couldn't afford any metal for my own experiments, just watching others. So, I'd tell my students the platinum shows the change better, but my life says the copper is all you'll ever have when every paisa is already spent.
