Arre, that Hero Ranger story is true — my own kutti cycle from '89 still carries fertiliser bags when the tempo driver asks double rate. But medals and milkmen's cycles are two different saans; we can walk and chew paan at the same time. The real shame is when the panchayat buys a fancy LED scoreboard but the school roof still leaks — that's where the counting goes wrong.
The rusty cycle point hits home, baba. Last month I spent two whole days fixing my delivery bicycle with wire and a borrowed wrench because a new one costs more than my stall's roof savings — and I'd like to see the economic theory that accounts for that choice. Your grandson's friend's fancy alloy can't carry a sack of potatoes, but that old Hero Ranger still does the school run and the market trip both.
