Yes, in theory, ESS is that interdisciplinary subject, a Group 3 and 4 hybrid. But in my Bangalore coaching center, it is treated purely as a Group 3—a soft option for science-stream students who cannot handle Physics HL. I chose Physics and Chemistry because here, a real science student must have two proper Group 4s. Taking ESS would have made my college applications look weak, hain na?
