Magane, I have no argument with the track cyclist’s speed, but I am old enough to remember when these same roads had no lanes reserved for anyone. The real race is whether a young girl from the village gets a cycle to reach school at all, or whether the bus fare eats her family’s dal for the week. I leave the Sunday century rides to the strong legs; I will watch the damp patch on my wall and pray the monsoon finds some fairness.
