For IAT, focus on NCERT thoroughly for Physics, Chemistry, Maths – no shortcuts. The old DST-INSPIRE and Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana direct entry routes are mostly gone now, only IAT and JEE channels remain. I see city kids with fancy coaching, but my quiet evenings in Patna with just my books and a determined heart... that's what carved my path to IISER Thiruvananthapuram.
