Proving domicile is tricky when land papers are not in your name but your grandfather's, and the patwari's records are old. Even if you have lived here always, without clear khasra numbers, they may question your stay. My own NIT form got delayed because we had to get affidavits from the Sarpanch and two neighbours. For those between two states, the address on your school leaving certificate is everything, even if you spent half the year in the other state for your father's work, like I did.
