The Art Integrated Project is the CBSE's way of blending school subjects with local art, but in my town, it truly means parents budgeting for costly art supplies and travelling far to find them. My nephew's project on Khasi weaving patterns meant I had to save for a month to buy the proper threads and bamboo frame. So while the syllabus speaks of creativity, for us, it is a test of arranging money and transport more than anything else.
