Ah, for wedding loans, all the banks in our town are advertising them, but the interest is steep – at least 11% these days. The EMI after two years? Aiya, that will be a heavy sum, maybe half your monthly salary. I see young fellows taking these loans and then their families stop sitting on the verandah in the evening, always working extra shifts. My own daughter's wedding we did with simple rituals and the gold her amma saved over the years – better a small function than years of repaying a bank.
