Ah, the lab method is with potassium permanganate, but yaar, my kitchen-counter version is much simpler with lemon juice and baking soda—it fizzes more with high oxalate! My guavas from the backyard tree near the well give less fizz than the market ones, I swear. It’s that red soil and less watering, I think—makes them milder. All my kaka who grows them too says the same, so my local projects feel like that sometimes, you know? A different result in different soil.
