NexCAR19 costs around Rs 30-35 lakhs in India, which is a huge burden for our public health purse. We can't fund such niche, high-cost treatments when basics like nutrition and primary care are underfunded in our hill communities. I see this daily—my father's pension stretches for our family and my books, but a single major illness would wipe us out; public money is scarce and must save the most lives, not the fewest.
