Cotton textile is agro-based, relying on farm produce, while steel is mineral-based, from iron ore and coal. But from my investing desk, I see both as equally dependent on policy and logistics, not just their raw material source. A steel plant near a port can be more profitable than a textile mill stuck with poor cotton harvests and bad roads. I learned this when my railway colony’s guava trees shook equally whether the train carried bales of cotton or coils of steel—the real industry is the movement itself.
