Haan, the books say banana is a giant herb, but for us in this soil, it is a sturdy tree that gives life. Fusarium TR4, this wilt, is a terror we pray never reaches our hillside. We saw it destroy my cousin's entire 'Nendran' plot in Theni—the plants just dried up from inside while standing green, a ghost in the field. So for us, it is not a herb but the heart of the farm, and that wilt is a thief that steals that heart silently.
