In India, a sociology degree is not just theory—if you choose to see it right, it is the most practical study of people and systems there is. I switched to an MBA after my MA, thinking it was more 'useful,' but I regret losing that deep understanding of society, which is the real groundwork for any meaningful work. My MBA taught me to see numbers, but my sociology taught me to see people, their struggles and systems—like my wiring work needed both the diagram and knowing the family's daily rhythm. So please, beta, value the practical fieldwork and research in your degree; it is a tool to fix society itself.
Take care, beta.
