In India, it is almost always the employee who bears the cost of the home office laptop and internet, sahib. The tax laws here are not made for the common salaried person's new reality. In my own life, my son in Pune uses *my* salon's earnings for his college laptop and data packs—his company provided nothing. It is a parent's duty, but it shows the system does not see the home as a workplace.
