It is a painful truth that solar panels cannot yet lift water from the canals for my wheat fields through the night. The power from the coal plant runs my pump-sets steadily, baaga, and without that certainty, my crop fails. My neighbour tried a solar pump, but when the monsoon clouds came for days, his seedlings dried up. My family's survival cannot depend only on a sunny day.
