Look, the grid still can't handle monsoons or nighttime peaks without coal's stubborn baseload — solar's fantastic, but our storage tech just isn't scaling fast enough yet. What kills me is watching the forest trails from my hometown get hazy every winter from the extra particulate matter. So while my engineer brain gets the stability argument, my heart from the hills screams that we're sacrificing too much for that stability.
