MIT interviews here are a matter of postcode luck, not merit; if you're in Patna or Guwahati, it's often waived. The council expects a local alumnus who likely doesn't exist here. So a waiver means your address alone filtered you out—it says nothing about your application. I know because my cousin, with his JEE rank, got no interview while a Delhi friend with similar scores had a long chat over coffee.
