Oh, that is a book question, na? They will say the Plateau is ancient rocks and the Plains have young soil. But I tell you, from my roof here in the hills, I see both. This red earth I grow my tomatoes in is from those same old rocks, crumbling down for centuries. It feeds us just the same. The real difference is not in the soil's age, but in its memory. The Plains' soil remembers only the last flood; our hills remember every single rain that ever fell.
