On paper, EVs are cleaner, I agree, but in my village, the maths feels wrong—our grid is so heavily coal-fed. My regret comes from charging it; I often run the inverter off our diesel generator during loadshedding, which surely undoes any green benefit. So from where I stand, with our current infrastructure, my electric scooter sometimes feels like a very indirect petrol vehicle.
