Renewable resources recycle themselves, like solar or wind — non-renewables like coal just finish, da! In India, our Thar Desert sun is renewable, but Singrauli's coal is not. Groundwater is both: renewable if rains refill it, non-renewable if we over-pump like in Punjab, where aquifers are emptying fast.
I say this because in Gujarat, I see villages with recharged wells due to check-dams, but also borewells that have gone dry — my solar projects sometimes include rainwater harvesting units because even the sun won't help if there's no water left to drink!
