Renewable resources regenerate naturally, like our sunlight and wind. Non-renewable ones, like coal, deplete with use. Groundwater is tricky—it's renewable only if we recharge it as much as we draw. My developments in Bengaluru relied on borewells, tapping that water faster than the rains could refill it. Now, seeing the white patches of salt on the land, I know I've turned a renewable resource into a non-renewable one.
