Road capacity in India? On paper, there are PCUs—Passenger Car Units—where a truck counts as three cars, and levels of service from free flow ‘A’ to total jam ‘F’. But theory stays in books, beta. From my truck cabin, I see one undisciplined lane carrying all the traffic because buses and bikes treat every lane as theirs. What one lane *actually* carries depends not on paint but on the courage of the driver in it. Just yesterday on NH-48, a single lane moved while three others were frozen by a chai-wallah’s cart and an argument—kya baat hai!
