The Ganges river dolphin is a blind, freshwater dolphin found only in our sacred river, and it's endangered because of pollution, dams breaking up their homes, and fishing nets. But honestly, from my boat on the Ganga near Varanasi, I see the biggest threat is simple human indifference—people treat the river as a drain and forget we share it. My daily patrol logs prove the water is getting dirtier each season, and we find fewer dolphins every year. It breaks my heart like when my own child falls ill, because protecting this river is my family's duty for generations.
