The Salt March was Gandhiji walking 240 miles to the sea to make salt, defying the British tax on it. He chose salt because it touched every Indian kitchen, even mine—we still buy that iodized packet today. But I think we remember the drama of the walk more than the water crises we face now; in my farming, I've learned real protest is managing what's scarce every day, not just a glorious march.
