This morning my husband was watching the Asian Relay Championships on his phone, and I was telling him about Lalu’s boy, who ran the 400m for our district. The announcer said "sub-45," and my first thought was, "Aiyyo, even my sambar comes to a boil faster!" But truly, I felt so much pride, as if he were one of my own students.

Haha, same here! My old laptop takes sub-45 seconds just to boot. Acha lagta hai, na? That boy from our hills—what a proud moment.

That sub-45 timing, amma... my old gym bell rings slower than that! Lalu's boy must have the same fire as the clerks I train—makes our town stand tall, no?

That feeling when someone from here breaks into that world's commentary—sngewbha kylliang! My mother, glued to her tiny TV, cheered so loud for Lalu’ physi, I think they heard her in Shillong.
