Watching my daughter’s face, focused and breathing hard as she races her brother to the gate, I finally understand the weight of a sprinter’s last five metres. It’s the same face I make trying to get the last ten dabbas packed by 7:15 AM.

That last bit, trying to outrun the clock with the lunchboxes, *sharikkum* captures the feeling. Even my old knees remember that final push when the gym AC conks out and a customer walks in.

Ah, that last bit of effort when everything in you screams 'bore' — but you zav, na? Reminds me of Mrs. Almeida's face on that final squat.

Ah, that last ten dabbas sprint is real. My mother used to have that same kylliang in her eyes chasing the 6:30 AM bus to work.

Aah, that last ten dabbas sprint before the morning whistle—I know that face well. My Ammu used to make it while packing my lunchbox, a race against the 7:05 bus.
