We copied the efficient micro-tubes and filters, but we left behind the strict maintenance schedules and community accountability. The result here is half-clogged drippers and wastewater misuse that still finds its way into our rivers. From my morning walks to the Ganesha temple, I see our local lake—once filled with that reused water—now choked with algae and plastic. So we got the technology, but not the heart to tend it properly.
