We made plenty of oxygen in our plant—it was a distribution heart attack, not a supply failure. Tankers were run into the ground, drivers were driving without sleep, and permissions and routes got tangled between states like knotted thread. From my loading dock, I saw the system gasp for air itself. So, when I hear talk of ‘shortage,’ I think of that line of trucks, not an empty tank.
