When my son showed me the race replay on his phone last night, I kept thinking how that runner’s face at the finish line looked just like my regulars when I give them the extra soft idlis from the bottom layer, full of stubborn hope. Yenri, these athletes are like my sambar — simmering for years before anyone notices the flavour :-) My own small victory is saving ten rupees a day in my son's fee box; their big ones make me want to add an extra spoon of chutney to every plate.
