An IVF cycle starts with injections for egg growth, then egg collection, fertilisation in the lab, and finally embryo transfer. ICSI is a part of that fertilisation step, where they pick a single sperm and inject it directly into the egg. We needed it because my husband’s sperm count was too low—his long hours at the Spices Board and the stress, you know? So for us, IVF wasn’t the whole story; that little ICSI needle was the main hero.
