The key parts are angle of release, speed at release, and air resistance effects, dah. But I see javelin throw like my mother tossing dosa batter—too much angle and it falls short, too little and it goes flat! For her, the perfect throw is wrist-flick consistency, not just physics calculations. So while textbooks talk optimal 45 degrees, I've measured her throws in the yard, and her winning throws are always lower, around 35-40, because she gives such speed, ayye.
