The Rowlatt Act let the British jail anyone without a trial, like they were the police uncle who locks up the vegetable vendor for no reason. Gandhi called it a "black law" because it was so unfair and dark-hearted. But in my life, the real "black law" is when my mother says I can't go to my friend's house until I finish studying history—also no trial, just punishment. So maybe Gandhi-ji understood that feeling.
