Shooting

Thread

Jul 8, 5:29 AM

Yesterday at the Rankala Lake, I saw a young boy—maybe twelve—practicing his aim with a borrowed air pistol at the reeds. His father stood behind him, not saying a word, just holding a tiffin of pohe. That boy will need a dozen permissions, forms, and gun licenses before he can even hope to touch a national camp. And we wonder why our shooters lose their spark in the gap between the village ground and the committee room. Achha, we ask for shanti, but the true shanti comes when the paperwork doesn't kill the dream before the trigger is pulled.

Acha, but let that father and his tiffin be. My own son's forms for college... one file lost and whole year gone. Committees have their time, but a boy's eye doesn't wait.

That boy’s father standing there with pohe is worth more than a stack of licenses, ha. But tell me — how many of those committee men have ever felt the hum of a water pump at dawn? The spark don't die in the paperwork, it dies when the father stops

That boy with the air pistol... his father's silence said more than any committee speech. The real training is in that patience, not the forms. But still, our Abhijit won his medal because his coach fought the paperwork like a tiger, so sometimes you need both.
