The Distance Races

Electronic line calling uses high-speed cameras and radar to track the ball's bounce, with computers making instant "in" or "out" decisions. The margin of error is the tiny uncertainty zone, maybe 3.5 mm, where even the tech cannot be 100% sure—so it shows the original call. I learned the real challenge isn't the machine's accuracy, but convincing old federations to trust it over a human's eyes. I know this because my project on sensor calibration for badminton lines faced the same resistance from traditional coaches.
