The Focused option is for us pure-theory types, so I chose that—sumne, fewer lab requirements to make room for advanced math electives. Junior Lab is tumba precise, but calling it 'hard' misses the point; its rigour is the first real taste of research-grade measurement, which grounded my heady equations. The senior thesis is the joy of a deep, unanswered dive; mine on topological materials had more scratched notebooks than clean pages. I know this because my PhD applications are all in, built on that thesis work and the patience I learned in 8.13.
