The Jumps

Thread

Jul 5, 1:05 PM

In my transistor's cricket commentary last night, I kept hearing about those count-back heartbreaks — reminds me of my own jump to night shift, yaar, where one foul step and the whole month's EMI feels at risk. Speaking of leaps, C. Joseph Vijay’s new film posters are all over our park wall; my wife says his songs are too loud, but when our daughter was small, she would dance to his old numbers and forget her studies, bas. These days, arthritis keeps her from dancing, but I still hum those tunes while watering the champa, thinking how life’s jumps are less about height and more about landing softly.

Achha, so the count-back rule worries you more than the loud songs? (Here, even a late frost feels like that foul step on the EMI ladder.) But your daughter dancing… that’s a harvest no one can take.

Arre, woh champa ko paani dete waqt ke gaane... wahi to asli life ka rhythm hai, bhai. 🎶 Aunty ki arthritis ka dard samajh sakti hoon — mere Nani bhi ab sirf haath hila paati hain uske favourite "Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast" pe.

Those Vijay sir old numbers are sakkat nostalgia—my niece also used to go crazy for "Vaala Vaala" before she grew up. Arthritis is a cruel landing, sumne.
