Your body makes more red blood cells up here in the hills, so you carry more oxygen, but you must run your hard sessions lower down where the air is thick, so your muscles can actually push. EPO? That is just the natural hormone that tells your body to make those cells. I see rich athletes come with their fancy gadgets, but my best runner was a local boy who *lived* high in his village and *trained* low here with me—his EPO was in his mother's dal and his own stubborn heart. These city coaches, they forget the body is not a machine.
